With summer fast approaching, it’s that time of year again – all-new Lego set rumors. And for any brick enthusiasts looking to snag a new dinosaur-themed set, they may be disappointed, as each of the rumored LEGO dinosaur sets features dinos that we’ve already seen – namely Stygimoloch, T-Rex, Carnotaurus, and Baryonyx.
While it’s not yet clear which Jurassic Park franchises these sets will belong to, we’ll likely see a Jurassic Park, Camp Cretaceous, Fallen Kingdom, and Dominion mix. Although that said, the latter – Jurassic World: Dominion – would seem unlikely, given that the release of the highly anticipated entry to the movie franchise has been pushed back to a 2020 release as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
When it comes to price, the newly rumored sets range from $29.99 up to $79.99, with the largest of the four – Baryonyx Dinosaur Boat Escape 76942 – expected to have a count of 308 pieces.
Here is a list of the all-new LEGO Jurassic World Sets rumored to hit the shelves this year, along with details of their respective retail prices and piece counts:
- Stygimoloch Dinosaur Escape 76939 (129 pieces): 39.99 USD
- T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Escape 76940 (198 pieces): 29.99 USD
- Carnotaurus Dinosaur Chase 76941 (240 pieces): 49.99 USD
- Baryonyx Dinosaur Boat Escape 76942 (308 pieces): 79.99 USD
If you’re wondering about the low piece count and the high price-per-piece ratio of the first set, this is because they’re marked as being for children aged 4+, great for any parents of young children looking to pick up a dinosaur-themed set for a preschooler.
The all-new sets for 2021 are expected to release sometime in June, which would be in line with LEGO’s usual release schedule.
