LEGO Jurassic World sets have been more action-packed in recent years, focusing on chases or conflicts with an escaped dinosaur. However, this latest set changes that trend, opting instead for a less expensive, easier-to-build take on the incredibly popular LEGO Ideas Dinosaur Fossils (21320) set – the all-new, 198-piece LEGO Jurassic World T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition (76940).
Something especially great about this dinosaur LEGO set is that instead of using larger, custom pieces for the body, arms, and legs, these are built with bricks. This makes it more poseable than the dinosaur figures in other sets, which will help it look even better once it’s built and on display with the rest of your dino collection.
Another thing we like about this set is that it’s age-rated for children, being ideal for builders aged 7 years and up – whereas the original LEGO Ideas 21320 Dinosaur Fossils that inspired it was more of a grown-up kit for more experienced, older builders.
There’s also a display stand with a plague, which reveals just how large this beast would have been, and it includes three minifigures; a baby Triceratops toy figure, Darious, and Owen Grady.
If the success of the original LEGO Ideas Dinosaur Fossils (21320) set is any indicator, you’ll want to act first to make sure you secure yourself one before they sell out.
LEGO Jurassic World T. rex Dinosaur Fossil Exhibition (76940) released September 1st as is available now on Amazon for $29.99.
