Trailer Drops for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Netflix’s New Animated Dinosaur Series

If there’s only one dinosaur movie franchise, it’s Jurassic Park. This franchise is now actively working to widen its appeal to a broader audience by launching an all-new, animated Netflix series for kids; Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

It could be argued that the franchise has always made an effort to appeal to children. Although, it wasn’t really bedtime viewing with their feature films containing plenty of scary dinosaurs, running down and threatening the lives of humans on screen.

The new, animated series is designed specifically for a younger audience. In it, you’ll follow a group of children led by camp counselors Roxie and Dave, who run a camp on the other side of Isla Nublar, outside of the theme park in Jurassic World.

Although the series is educational, containing plenty of information for kids interested in learning more about dinosaurs, it’s also much more of a kid’s show. It includes many of the similar story elements and themes of other series targeted at young children.

Something that may appeal to older viewers is that the series will contain events from the film, unfolding and being told from the camp’s different angle. This means that Camp Cretaceous will feature plenty of action, albeit somewhat toned down for a younger audience.

This one will appeal to the series’s fans, both young and old, who want to ready themselves for the new feature film by catching up on all things Jurassic Park.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous premieres September 18 on Netflix.
